Edwin F. Brooks has handled criminal cases since his admission to the bar. He trained under another attorney, helping with that attorney’s cases, before he started representing clients of his own. This mentor was a long time criminal defense attorney who was also a former prosecutor. Edwin F. Brooks has handled criminal cases statewide, and is available to represent clients in the Richmond area (Richmond, Chesterfield, Henrico, Hanover, Caroline, Goochland, Charles City, New Kent counties, among others), as well as in the Williamsburg area, the Petersburg/Tri-Cities area, Tidewater (Mr. Brooks actually worked in Norfolk for eighteen months after passing the bar examination), Northern Virginia, the Charlottesville area, Southside Virginia, Southwest Virginia, the Shenandoah Valley, and the New River Valley. Mr. Brooks has also handled cases in the Staunton area, and is familiar with the Courts in Covington and the surrounding environs. Mr. Brooks has tried numerous cases to juries, and has been successful many times, with acquittals won in violent cases, and drug cases. He has also appealed cases to the Court of Appeals of Virginia and the Supreme Court of Virginia.
